1. Combine shrimp thru salt & pepper in a bowl and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes. Saute in a pan over medium heat until shrimp are fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside, reserving the sauce (if there is no extra sauce/not the desired amount, remove shrimp from pan, add 1/2 stick salted butter to the pan, 1/2 lemon juice and a dash of hot sauce and stir until melted. Set aside.).
2. To assemble the sandwich, cut French bread lengthwise. Mix mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, mustard and hot sauce together. Spread on one side of bread, top with sliced lettuce and tomato. Add shrimp and additional shrimp sauce as desired.
